What is MCP?

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard by Anthropic that lets AI applications connect to external data sources and tools through a unified interface — like a "USB-C for AI." Instead of building custom integrations for each AI app, you build one MCP server that works everywhere.

Architecture: A host (Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code) runs an MCP client that connects to any number of MCP servers, each exposing tools, resources, and prompt templates.
